WAdaS `95 - THE SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS CONFERENCE

The Twelfth Annual Washington Ada Symposium was held last week in McLean, Virginia.

A live-via-satellite television broadcast featured worldclass speakers and experts on the topic of object-oriented methods. Grady Booch, internationally recognized expert, noted author, and Chief Scientist at Rational Software Corporation, spoke on the role that object-oriented methods can play in achieving business objectives and organizational goals. Marie Lenzi, Editor-in-Chief of Object Magazine and founder of Syrinx Corporation offered the perspective that "Objects are not Enough" in making real progress in any organization. And Derek Coleman, co-author of ObjectOriented Development: The Fusion Method and Manager of Application Engineering at Hewlett-Packard, spoke on the use and evolution of object-oriented methods at HP Labs.

NEW Ada UTILITIES OFFERED BY DDC-I

DDC-I, Inc. and Lynx Real-Time Systems, a supplier of embedded operating system software for microprocessor-based products, recently announced the integration of the LynxOS version 2.2 operating system to the DDC-I Native Ada Compiler System for PC's(DACS - PC/LynxOS). DACS-PC/LynxOS includes a compiler, linker, symbolic debugger, program library utility, assembler, disassembler, stack analyzer, refather tool and a GUI integrator.

Also available from DDC-I is a new utility for the DDC-I Ada Cross Compiler System (DACS) for Intel 80x86, DACS-PC/Bare. This utility turns an everyday PC into bare machine for embedded development. The DDC-I run-time system circumvents DOS and offers the same real-time behavior expected from a single board computer.
