                  FINAL CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

Though TRI-Ada '95 is still months away, the deadline for participation in this year's conference is quickly approaching. Organizers of TRI-Ada '95 are eagerly awaiting the comments and ideas of commercial users to demonstrate how engineering software with Ada can be successfully applied in their domains.

In addition to the traditional software systems engineering topics, TRI-Ada '95 is emphasizing Ada's broad reach across DoD and government domains into the international commercial sector. Participation from the Ada community is necessary to show how critical government, military and commercial applications can all benefit from using Ada and software engineering technology.

NEW ANALYSIS AND TEST SYSTEMS IMPROVE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF

On February 17, 1995, ASTA, Inc., announced the availability of TCMON and TBGEN, two new software analysis and test systems that improve the quality and performance of programs written in Ada.

TCMON and TBGEN are used by software development and test organizations to identify performance bottlenecks, test coverage, and automatically test Ada programs. TCMON and TBGEN provide the ability to analyze and test Ada software programs before they are released, so deficiencies can be resolved quickly and easily, before they become major problems.

RATIONAL ACQUIRES OBJECT-ORIENTED SOFTWARE-ENGINEERING FIRM
DATELINE: February 24, 1995

On January 16, 1995, Rational Software Corporation announced the acquisition of Palladio Software Corporation, a softwareengineering firm that provides tools and training for objectoriented development. All of Palladio's employees will join Rational, and Palladio's products and technology will be owned by Rational.

Palladio was the original developer of a Windows-based objectoriented analysis and design product that Rational licensed and integrated with its Rational Rose technology as part of a joint technology and distribution agreement with Palladio in October 1992. Since then, the two companies have collaborated on the development and enhancement of the Rational Rose family of products.

RATIONAL ANNOUNCES QUARTERLY PROFITS

Also recently released by Rational were their financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year, ending December 31, 1994. Net income for the quarter was $1.6 million, compared with a loss of $562,000 for the same period a year earlier. Revenue increased to $18.6 million, up more than 9% from the previous year's period.

Product revenue accounted for $10 million, with consulting and support revenue making up the remainder of the total. For the first three quarters of the fiscal year, total revenue was $53.3 million, with income for the period totaling $3.2 million (up from $414,000 for the same period last year).
