1.) Boolean Searching You can use 'AND' and 'OR' between your keywords, by clicking the appropriate selection on the pull down menu. 'AND' is applied by default. 2.) 'AND' Using 'AND' returns records containing all words entered in the search field. For example, 'tool set' returns all records with both tool AND set in the text. 3.) 'OR' Using 'OR' returns records containing at least one of the key terms entered. For example, 'tool set' returns all records with the occurance of tool OR set in the text. 4.) BOOLEAN EXPRESSIONS You may type boolean expressions directly into the terms search box. Boolean expressions use the terms 'AND' and 'OR' in addition to parenthesis (), to group words together. Below are some example searches for the AdaIC host: tool and set tool or set (tool or set) and cost 5.) MISCELLANEOUS "Return" limits the number of records returned on the search results page. "Long/Short Format" allows users to choose how they want search results returned. Long returns the location of a user's search terms, in addition to excerpts of the term's use on a page. The short format returns only the title of the page the search term is found on.
