Tri-Ada Conference Papers
Papers and Publications
A technical paper presented at STC'96, describing what makes real-time data management different from non-real-time data management and compares Ada 95's concept of programming by extension" (as used by an Ada object database) to SQL views.
A report designed as a decision aid for the software manager who must choose appropriate software assets for an organization to use in its software production.
A white paper which develops a recommended mapping from OMT associations to Ada. The mapping is presented in a constructive fashion, addressing issues one at a time, leading up to several templates which illustrate the mapping.
An Object Base Design Mechanism for
Interactions Between an Ada 83 applications and X Windows
A binding to Tcl from Ada is described. The goal of this binding is to make scripting language features, such as associative arrays, regular expression matching, and execution of OS commands available to an Ada programmer and to allow a Tcl programmer to use Ada in place of C where needed. This paper is available in Postscript, Text, and MS Word 7.0 formats.
Interface Development Toolkit for Ada A platform-independent Application Programming Interface (API) for developing Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) is described. This API includes a complete "thin" binding to Tcl and an experimental "thick" binding to Tk from Ada 95. Several features of Ada 95 such as access to subprograms, tagged types, and interface to C were used in this binding. The paper is also available in Postscript, Text, and MS Word 7.0 format.
A technical paper and accompanying slides presented at Software Technology Conference 1997 (STC'97) by Michael Card, describing the unique features of Ada that make it an ideal choice for building object database managers.
