From the Script: SLIDE 55 - IMOM MI History
Here we see the MI data for the various stages of IMOM.
The FORTRAN was difficult to maintain because the original design could not be easily adapted to changing requirements.
The C was difficult to maintain primarily due to the fact that the code had been generated through a translator.
The Ada redesign, on the other hand, resulted in a very maintainable system.
This is empirical evidence of something that Ada programmers know first hand from anecdotal evidence:
Ada software is easier to maintain. It takes less time and fewer people.
