ABSTRACT

Claw

Claw is an all-Ada 95 development system for creating Microsoft Windows graphical user interface (GUI) applications. Claw contains three main components:

• Claw interfaces - object-oriented, Ada 95 interfaces to Microsoft Windows facilities. Claw was designed from the ground up in Ada 95 to be comfortable to Ada-experienced programmers. It includes extensive error handling and works with any Ada 95 compiler. The interfaces are provided in source form so that they can be adapted to work with new Ada compilers as they become available.
• CBuild - a WYSIWYG application design, simulation, and generation tool. CBuild allows the visual creation of applications, then generates clean, correct code to implement the application using the Claw interfaces.
• Documentation - extensive tutorial and reference documentation describes programming Windows from an Ada prespective.

Claw was designed to let Ada 95 programmers develop complete, powerful, Windows applications in Ada without the need to read, write, or think in another programming language.

The Claw introductory version is a subset of the full Claw functionality. It can be used to develop complete Windows applications. It is available for unlimited non-commercial use.
