distributes electronic copies of some some--not all--of
its reports.

	Often, people contact us to indicate that they
cannot locate an electronic copy of an SEI document that
they desire.  It is important to realize the following.

		Not all SEI documents are available 
		at our WEB site.

	Please note that you can order paper copies of SEI
reports through one of the distribution centers
listed in this READ.ME.

	This file provides information on how to get
information from our Web or FTP sites, and how to get
information about purchasing paper copies of SEI reports.

SEI Machine Address               

	You can FTP into the SEI by using this address:
ftp.sei.cmu.edu (or 192.58.107.148). You may log in as
anonymous; provide your e-mail address as your password.


SEI Documents

	SEI documents are located in /pub/documents and are
filed according to the year of publication.

	The complete list of SEI documents is available at

File Formats

	The documents in /pub/documents are formatted as
either portable document format (pdf) or PostScript (ps)
files.

	PDF (.pdf) files cannot be opened with desktop
publishing tools (such as Microsoft Word or FrameMaker).
PDF files can be read and printed with the Adobe Acrobat
Reader. You may download the Acrobat reader from the
Adobe site at no cost.  Refer to the Adobe home page for
information about the Acrobat line of products,

	PostScript (.ps) files cannot be opened with
desktop publishing tools (such as Microsoft Word or
FrameMaker). To view a PostScript file, you must use a
PostScript previewer. To print a PostScript file, you
will need to send the file to a PostScript printer. Refer
