More About ADA-TUTR

ADA-TUTR, the Interactive Ada Tutor is a tutorial program written in Ada that will train you to be an excellent Ada 95 programmer in minimum time.

ADA-TUTR runs on a wide variety of platforms. When run on an IBM-compatible PC, ADA-TUTR requires no Ada compiler, because .COM files for the PC are included. The .COM files will run under DOS or under a DOS partition in Windows. Under DOS, any monochrome or color monitor is suitable, and no extended or expanded memory is required. Under Windows, whatever hardware you're using for Windows will be more than adequate for ADA-TUTR.

Since Ada 83 source code is included, ADA-TUTR will also run on other platforms that have an Ada 83 or an Ada 95 compiler. For example, ADA-TUTR has been successfully installed on VAX VMS mainframes, UNIX workstations, etc. Again, any monochrome or color monitor is suitable.

Not just a "quiz," ADA-TUTR is a thorough course of interactive instruction that even checks your "homework" assignments. ADA-TUTR teaches good program design, not just syntax, so that your programs will take advantage of the features of Ada that will make them more reliable and easier to maintain. ADA-TUTR asks questions interactively, but to avoid pressure on the student, ADA-TUTR does not count the number of right or wrong answers and does not time the responses.

ADA-TUTR was written by John J. Herro, Ph.D., who taught graduate courses in Ada at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL, and the State University of New York at Binghamton. He also taught Ada to employees of General Electric Co., Grumman Aerospace Corp. (now Northrop Grumman), and Harris Corp.

ADA-TUTR is shareware. This means that you can try the program for free and pay for it only if you decide to use it. Also, you can earn substantial money distributing copies of ADA-TUTR. In addition to individual registrations, Multi-User Licenses for companies, schools, etc., are available very inexpensively.
